Jet laggg

It's 4:30AM, And I slept a whole 45 minutes tonight. It's 6:30PM in Laos right now.

So, here I am, I don't know who is reading this, or if anyone is reading it, but here goes.

On Monday, Chambers talked about God's goal for our lives. Chambers argues that God's goal might not necessarily be a goal. God's goal for us is the process. The process by which we live our lives. The process is the goal. Striving for complete obedience to God is the goal.

In a way, that makes sense. Will we ever be perfect? No, obviously not. But we can strive for perfection everyday. And it is that striving that God desires for us.

Working Out Your Faith

Several times already, Chambers talks about "working out" your salvation. Today, I thought about what that means.

I thought about the different ways we use the phrase "working out." Obviously, "working out" usually means working out physically. Working our bodies and muscles to make them stronger and increase endurance. And this can also apply to working out our salvation to strengthen and increase the endurance of our faith.

Another way we use "working out" is in things like a math problem. We "work out" the problem to see the solution to the equation. Can we "work out" our salvation in this sense? Consider not just knowing your salvation, but "working out" your salvation. Who came to save us? How? And WHY? Maybe if we "work out" the problem(sin) to come to the solution(salvation), we can get closer to understanding the heart of God.

On another note, We will be leaving for Vietnam this Friday, so please pray for us and remember us in your daily thoughts.
