Luke 12:49-59

Luke 12:58-59

"As you are going with your adversary to the magistrate, try hard to be reconciled to him on the way, or he may drag you off to the judge, and the judge turn you over to the officer, and the officer throw you into prison. I tell you, you will not get out until you have paid the last penny."

I believe that the message of Salvation cannot be made into a simpler metaphor than the one that Jesus provides here in Luke.

Obviously, we are the ones being taken to the magistrate to be judged, and if we do not reconcile ourselves, we will be thrown into prison. We need to make peace with our adversary, the person we have wronged, to avoid punishment.
